Harley-Davidon/Buell of Fresno's History. The Miller family have been motorcycle enthusiasts and involved in the motorcycle business for many years. From 1955-1962, Monte Miller (Rich's father) owned and operated the local Harley-Davidson Dealership-Monte's Motorcycles of Fresno. In 1962 Monte choose to carry other motorcycles-Ducati, Norton and Bridgestone to name a few, so the Harley-Davidson franchise was sold. Things were running smoothly, when in 1969 a business opportunity in Ventura presented itself. Monte became involved with the Ventura Harley-Davidson franchise, leaving Rich and long-time friend and empolyee, Bill Lacy to run Monte's. Rich decided to concentrate on customization of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles and after market products. Mont's Motocycles became and independent Harley- Davidson after market "chopper shop" Rich maintained a good relationship with Harley-Davidson and in 1988 was awarded a new Harley-Davidson dealership. The business incorporated as Harley-Davidson of Fresno, Inc. in the 4th quarter of 1988.
